Today’s startups are setting up shop in one of the best times in the past 20 years. The major reason is because of cloud computing and the money it can save. A recent article in Gigaom talks about why this is a great time to be a startup, from an IT perspective.
With cloud computing the game has completely changed. From the cloud user’s view, it would be as startling for a new software startup to build its own datacenter as it would for a hardware startup to build its own fabrication line. For startups, they need to focus on their core competency, not trying to build out a datacenter or stand up an infrastructure. The Gigaom article clearly spells this out.
